Understanding Dignity

December 10, 2010

In a period of 24 hours I saw two scenes played out in front of me in two very poor places in Cambodia.  I believe the pictures speak for themselves.  The first picture is of musicians who are all are former beggars and are all handicap land mine victims.

"We stop begging. We want to live with dignity."

The second picture is in the poorest slum in poipet, Cambodia.  All the homes are the shanties built by squatters.  The people who live in this slum are extremely poor people and due to be evicted any day.
